Manaslu Circuit Trek, opened in 1992, is one of the adventuring treks in Nepal. It is getting popular these days as a new destination for trekking. The trek provides the overall experience of the tribal community, alpine forest, streams, hills, and snow-capped mountains. Besides that, hiking around Manaslu offers the experience of the unexplored region of Nepal. It is filled with a remarkable scenic view of Mt. Manaslu (8,163m), Mt. Himalchuli, Mt. Ganesh Himal, and other low mountains.
This trek provides an opportunity to interact with the different ethnic groups, try local foods, and explore villages. Many tea houses and lodges are open for trekkers. Manaslu Trekking covers most of the conservation area, so it requires permission. Therefore, it offers the opportunity to see some endangered animals and vegetation species. For the most part, it includes walking in snow trails at an altitude above 3000m (10,000 ft.). It is within the ability of people with a good healthy condition.
Manaslu Circuit Trek starts from Soti Khola and ends in Chyamje. The highest point of this trekking is Larkya La Pass (5,190m), one of Nepal’s thrilling mountain trails. Many Buddhist monuments, monasteries, colorful religious flags make the trip more relaxing. While staying in local villages, you can try organic vegetables, fruits, local wine, ethnic Nepalese foods. Besides that, know about their culture and tradition.
Manaslu Circuit Trek Itinerary is listed below with a detailed path description. It takes 14 – 15 Days to complete depending on the requirement. The total cost for a complete package depends on accommodation, transportation, and agency. Along with it, you can add Tsum Valley Trek, which is the world’s remotest valley, situated in between Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal, and Boudha Himal ranges. You can find ancient monuments, temples, structures and learn about their ancient culture, religion, traditions, and rituals.
Manaslu Circuit Trek is getting popularity only in recent times. Although the trail was opened sometime back, the facilities in the trail remain in basic standard although it is improving. This is a complete tea house trek however the standard / quality of the lodges remains low especially in places in Samdo and Dharmashala. We recommend you not to expect high-quality services.
The total duration of the program is 16 days, 2 days for international arrival and departures, 2 days for Kathmandu to the trek starting point and trek ending point to Kathmandu drive, and 11 night 12 days trekking in the mountains. The trek is a quiet route and is not overcrowded at any time of the year. Expect peaceful walking and expect to walk about 6 – 7 hours on average with a long day while crossing the pass.
