Kulekhani Dam is the one of the most famous Dam which is 47km southwest away far from Kathmandu. Kulekhani Dam is also known as Indrasarobar. It is an artificial lake made for hydropower. It is more famous because of their beautiful nature, cultural heritage and peaceful environment. We can see everywhere greenery forest. It is a famous spot for fishing boating and picnicking. We can do boating and picnicking in there and enjoy our day with beautiful nature.

How to Get Kulekhani?

We can go there by bus, bike and jeep. It takes almost 4 to 5 hours from Kathmandu via Thankot and to Pharping and we will reach Kulekhani. But in public transport we have to take bus from Balkhu towards Hetauda and get in Kulekhani.

What’s Special About Kulekhani?

The main attraction is the Indrasarobar Dam, it is an artificial lake created for hydropower to make electricity. Kulekhani have a peaceful surroundings where we can enjoy alot. There are many hills which is surrounded by forest and we can see the greenery everywhere that makes our heartbeat fast. In Kulekhani the crystal-clear waters make Kulekhani a relaxing escape. But it is less crowded spot than other spot.

There is a charming lakeside stop with lots of traditional homes and local food. Chitlang is another famous village for visits. We can short hike chitlang’s people make goat cheese which you can try it and there is a peaceful homestays. Chandragiri Hills is another village where we can visits and it often combined in a single-day and overnight trip.
