Ilam is a beautiful district falling in eastern Nepal, which is famous for its fabulous natural beauty and pulsating tea culture. The most captivating feature of Illam, however, is its lively tea industry. It has an excellent reputation among those areas which produce the best type of tea in Nepal, especially black tea. A number of famous tea gardens are part of the sightseeing tours around Makaibari Tea Estate, with the processing method of tea being explained to the guests; guided tours and tastings are also arranged for them. Some sprawling tea gardens with their workers plucking leaves against a backdrop of breathtaking mountain scenery create a picture-postcard-like environment-a view that mesmerizes many tourists.
Culturally, Ilam has grown as the confluence of ethnic diversity, housing different ethnicities such as the Limbu, Magar, and Rai people. Rich cultural diversity may also be gleaned from the traditions, festivals, and food of the locals. Detailed itinerary of 5 days
Day 1 : Kathmandu to Ilam Bazzar
In the first day of our trek we will travel kathmandu to Illam bazar and having snacks and lunch in the way. After we visit there we will take a rest, having dinner and snacks welcome and stay in a hotel for a night.
Day 2 : Ilam bazaar to Antu Danda to Mai Pokhari
In second day, we will having breakfast in hotel and we will go to Antu Danda after 1.5 hours drive from there. Afterward, the journey is forwarded to Mai Pokhari which is at 2438m altitude. And having lunch in the Antu Danda hotel. After the busy day will stay at a hotel in Mai Pokhari.
Day 3: Maipokhari to Pashupati Nagar to Fikal
In third day, we will head towards Pashupatinagar after breakfast. After sightseeing the surrounding we will explore Fikkal and enjoy the local food there. We also stay at the hotel at Fikkal.
Day 4 : Fikkal to Kanyam to Itahari
The fourth day of our tour starts with breakfast and a ride to Kanyam, the famous tea garden of Nepal. After visiting the place we will drive to Itahari. After reaching Itahari, we will explore the Itahari Bazar and stay there for the night.
Day 5: Itahari to Kathmandu drive
The final day of the tour is simply the ride from Itahari to Kathmandu after the breakfast at hotel. The drive is about 6-7 hours.

Depart from Kathmandu in the early morning at about 6:00 AM, avoiding traffic; you can use the bus or a hired vehicle.
En-route breakfast: Stop for breakfast at a local eatery. Lunch in Dhankuta: Have lunch in Dhankuta and enjoy the local cuisine.
Continue Illam: In the scenic drive, see hills and rivers. Arrive in Illam: Check into your accommodation, a local guesthouse, or a stay at one of the tea estates.

Go for a visit to Mai Pokhari: A beautiful lake nestled between the hills is perfect for shooting photos and relaxing.
Dinner: Either at any local restaurant or at your hotel.
Early Morning Hike: If your stamina allows, take a short hike around the hills of Illam to catch the panoramic view.
Breakfast: Have a nice warm breakfast at your accommodation.
Departure from Illam: Leave for Kathmandu by noon
