Itinerary for Everest base Camp Treks

Arrival In Kathmandu

At the time of your arrival there will be a representative of Himalayasmountain in the International Airport to welcome you. They will guide you to your hotel where you can relax after your long travels. Afterwards, at the time of evening, the trekking guide will ask you some questions related to the trek.

Fly  to Lukla, Hike  to Phakding

Lukla airport is the most dangerous airport in the world. The airport is well-known because it serves as the starting point for treks to Mount Everest Base Camp. There are daily flights between Lukla and Kathmandu during daylight hours in good weather. Despite the short flight distance, rain frequently falls in Lukla while the sun shines brightly in Kathmandu. High winds, cloud cover, and changing visibility often cause flight delays or airport closures.  The airport is surrounded by a structure fence and is heavily guarded by Nepali armed police or civil police around the clock.

Highlights of Lukla to phakding Trek

  • Amazing Flight
  • Beautiful View
  • Sherpa culture
  • Great Landscape

Trekking begins from Lukla. Lukla is at 2860 m in height from sea level. The first day of the trek starts from Lukla. It would be very excited and energized. The weather was too favorable. The environment was too fresh and clear. After getting to Lukla, you would go to Phakding-2610 meters above sea level. You would spend your nights at teahouses. A teahouse is a one-star hotel with facilities like a communal bathroom, a dining room for dinner or meals, and a place to get warm near a fire and socialize with villagers.

Phakding to Namche Trek

The second day of the trek is the most strenuous. This day is most challenging due to its long-distance and high elevation. In terms of physical exertion, this was one of the most challenging days of the Everest Base Camp trek – 16km of rather relentless up and down, particularly in the last two hours.

It is, however, a breathtaking walk. On day two of the EBC  trek, there are several firsts: the first suspension bridge, the first entry into the official Sagarmatha national park, and the first view of Everest, weather permitting! You would see a glimpse of Everest, which is thrilling.

 Acclimatization day

On the third day, you would make a massive jump of 800 meters. Due to the increase in altitude, it would be difficult to adjust to the weather and environment. On this day, we would enjoy the view of Everest. The Sightseeing in the surrounding area is stunning. Similarly, you would visit local schools, monasteries, and village areas of Khumjung.

Namche bazzar to Tengboche Trek day

Namche Bazaar is the Everest Base Camp Trek’s equivalent of London. It is a bustling village with many shops and restaurants. You would be delighted to see so many coffee signs and takeaway coffees. The coffee in Namche Bazaar is also quite good.

Some treks spend two nights here for acclimatization. You would arrive in Namche Bazaar around 4 p.m., giving time to wander around. This is the last good place to get chocolate, cookies, pharmacy items, trek gear, etc. Namche is situated at 3440 meters from sea level. From this altitude, we walked to 3870 meters and reached Tengboche.

Tengboche to  Dingboche trek

On the fifth day, you would reach Dingboche. It is one of the most stunning days of Everest Base Camp Trekking. Dingboche is at 4410m in height from sea level.  Here, you would climb 540 meters from Tengboche to Dingboche. Ascending to higher elevations would be difficult. You would feel exhausted and sluggish, and walking uphill would feel like the last mile of a marathon.

 Acclimatization Day During Everest Trek

It would be your sixth day; you would reach Dingboche, 4410 meters above sea level. On this day, due to the high altitude, you would feel tired and feel sick. You would for three hours in the village area of Chhukung. Then, you would move to the north, but the accommodation would become worse and worse. You would have to compromise with the accommodation.

Dingboche  to Lobuche Trek

Climbing another 500 meters,  you would trek from Dingboche to Lobuche. You would go through spectacular, snowy, rocky Himalayas. Finally, you would reach a small village called Lobuche.

Lobuche to Gorekshep to EBC to Gorekshep

From Lobuche, it takes three miles to reach Gorekshep, which is 5164 meters. Here you will see mesmerizing scenery and rocky snowcapped mountains. You have to walk through beautiful trails during this day eight, which would be memorable and adventurous. Gorekshep is the most northern stop of the Everest Base camp trek.

Gorekshep to kalapather to Pongboche

On day nine, you can see the best view of Mt.Everest from the top of the Kalapather. Moving from Gorekshep to kalapather you would have to face altitude sickness, fatigue, and dizziness, so you must be prepared for these problems. After covering about 11 miles hike from Kalapather, you would reach Pongboche by descending.

Pongboche to Namche return Trek day

On the final trek day from Pongboche, you would return to Namche. You will regain the energy and would feel good about reaching Namche. You will hike for 7 hours to reach Phakding, and the temperature will also get warmer.

Fly back to Kathmandu

On the eleventh day, you will take flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, and here your memorable, adventurous Everest Base camp trek will be complete with lots of memories.
